we are interested in purchasing 2 additional chairs and want to make sure that 6 chairs will fit around the table when its full extended.
Definitely. Six chairs will even fit without extending the table, a little close, but they fit.

Are the chairs easy to clean?
What type of material is it?
No. The fabric is almost impossible to clean and it stains easily. I love the table but the chairs look so bad that I am trying to find a reasonable reupholsterer to put leather on the seats.

Wish I could tell you the type of wood.
The base is definitely solid wood though.
The table came in 3 pieces...the top, the based and the leaf. It had to be built here.
It took a bit of extra effort aligning the leaf in between the two table top halves, but the set up guys got it done and it looks great.

Attractive and stylish dining set. Love the dark rustic finish, size and the fact that it has a leaf. The set looks heavy duty but is easy to move around. Chairs are well made and comfortable. Very happy with this purchase.

I've had this dining set for about 6 weeks. It's very pretty to look at, and I did read the reviews before purchasing. I have a clear plastic table cover so I don't need to deal with the snags, and crevices other people wrote about. That problem solved. The size is great for our family of 5. This set however is not built for American sizes. The chairs are built for more petite people. Every time someone sits on a chair it creaks like it's gonna break, and on some chairs you feel the wood under your bottom. My family is a little taller than most, about 5'7-6'3. The weights are from 160-220, which isn't super heavy. I would say it's pretty average American size and weight.. Leg room is okay most of the time. There are a few times someone
hit the underboard with their knee, but not often. I am mostly unsatisfied with the chairs.

I was very happy with this dining set. I ordered online without having seen the set in person. I bought it for a vacation rental home. The table and chairs seem very well made and the chairs are very comfortable. I like that I can purchase individual chairs for the set in case I need to purchase a replacement.
