Looking for a rustic black table and chairs...wondering if this is close to black?
Its close enough. It looks black but is really a very very dark espresso brown. The finish is beautiful.

Okay to use standard cleaner/sprays/wipes safe for finished wood surfaces? Direct sunlight?
Wondering if its safe to use my standard all purpose cleaning sprays and/or clorox wipes that are "safe on finished wooden surfaces".
What is recommended cleaning instructions?
My dining room has large windows with direct sunlight. Will the direct sunlight affect/ruin the table?
I would definitely not put this very dark wood table in direct sunlight. The finish would fade. As for cleaning, a light clean with furniture polish is the recommended method.

Gorgeous table but soft wood
This table is gorgeous! We always get compliments on it! With the leaf in the table of course extends a bit but not enough to add extra chairs (we have 6 total chairs). Looks beautiful in our home- as do all the Jaxon items. One thing to note- the wood on the table top is VERY soft! If you aren’t careful, this will dent/scratch easy. Keep this in mind when purchasing. We are debating getting a piece of glass for the top in order to help protect it.

Love this table!
We first saw this table in the showroom while buying a couch and after a year of wanting it and honestly never finding anything as sturdy/useful/perfect for the price we finally bought it! It fits in our home perfectly and we love the farmhouse feel.

GORGEOUS TABLE GOES WITH MANY STYLES
I was initially on the fence about purchasing such an important piece as a dining table online, but loved the dark wood and look of this piece and decided to take the plunge. So glad I did! This table is absolutely everything I had hoped it would be. It is strong and sturdy, a bit rustic looking, and can be made larger with the removable leaf included with the piece. It goes in my dining room perfectly and looks great with my neutral farmhouse look and whitewashed walls. It was delivered on time by two very courteous installers who put the table together and cleaned up their mess afterwards. Very pleased with my purchase and would definitely buy again.

Beautiful Table!
I 100% relied on all of the reviews here when considering to purchase this table since I can't see it in person, and I'm so glad I did. Its such a beautiful table that really goes with any style and it fits perfectly in my space. I love that it comes with a leaf for extra room if needed and it can comfortably seat six without it. Its a really dark brown that can pass for black, like a dark espresso color. I love this table and I'm really excited to put it to use.

worth the wait
Wanted to wait till we got new carpet before we bought this and it looks great. Heavy, solid, and worth the $. Bought some Lemongrass parsons chairs to go with the bench/table and it's beautiful.
